Big Boy Bed

This is a picture of Peej in his big boy bed with his dogs, Cozy and Ella, who are named after Papa's and Lisa's dogs. He naps with them and sleeps with them every night.

Swinging

Peej is lucky enough to live right down the street from a great park. We drove down to this park in his wagon when I was there in January. We had fun swinging together!

Another Precious Peejism

When I was visiting Houston in January, Brooke, Peej and I went to a Mexican Restaurant and Peej put on the display hat so that he could be "in character" as he ate his "frijoles."
Actually, this blog has nothing to do with the hat or the restaurant...I just wanted to post a picture of Peej as I told this story.........
Phone call....Honey calling the Vescovo's
Brooke says to Peej, "Where are we going in March, Peter?"
Peej says (to Honey on the phone), "To Mickey's house."
Honey asks, " Can Honey and Donny come to Mickey's house with you?"
Peej replies excitedly, " Yeah! And I MARCH to Mickey's house...March, march, march...with big steps."
Cute Peej!

Sharon's Party

The Party was a huge success. Sharon was very surprised! Everyone had a great time. Old friends from elementary school and high school were there.

Cute Peej Things

I love this picture. With Baby Brother coming in 2 months, this picture is even more precious. Peej is so used to having Mommy's and Daddy's full attention. It will be a hard but sweet adjustment.
Brooke said that a couple of nights ago he wanted to change his "peeyamas" and she told him, "No." His reply was, "Relax, Babe." Maybe he's heard Mom and Dad say that to each other?
Also, last week they were riding in the car and he wanted to do something that was forbidden. Brooke said, "Peter, the answer is 'No.' " Peej replied, " The answer is YES."

David's Apartment

Notice the counters in the background
What a difference a year makes!
AND, what a difference graduating from college makes as far as places to live are concerned!!

I WISH that I had taken more pictures of the details in David's college abodes...such as the trash cans overflowing in the kitchen, dishes piled all over the counters, the coffee tables, the floors, etc. BUT, usually my thoughts most of the time I was there were, " Get me out of here, please."

Don't get me wrong, I loved visiting with David and I miss my lunches with him so much!

Anyway, this is his new place! It is so nice! A regular bachelor's pad...

AND, of course, I don't know how to put the pictures where I want them to go...so I suppose you can figure out that the top 4 pictures were supposed to go above this paragraph

AND the bottom 3 pictures were supposed to be placed after "Get me out of here, please"

Peej especially enjoyed David's shower! As we were busying around the apartment, he decided to undress and try it out!
The next day he did the same thing! I guess he likes that glass door!

Anyway, David has a great place and 2 wonderful roommates and I am excited for him as he begins his post college life!

Love you, David!

The Birthday Party

I haven't written a post in awhile! Just to let ya'll know...I am planning a surprise birthday party Saturday night for my friend, Sharon Clements Kiker. We have been friends since 3rd grade.
In 3rd grade we had a young teacher that we LOVED named Mrs. Beason. There weren't many young teachers back in those days and she was pretty too, so we both had a huge girl crush on her. We decided that we were each going to make a cake for her and bring it to school.
My cake was from my Betty Crocker Bake Set that I had gotten for Christmas. It was about 6 inches in diameter. Sharon's cake was a REAL cake! Chocolate cake with chocolate icing ( still her favorite). She went on to win the Betty Crocker award in high school. I remind her frequently that it all started with Mrs. Beason's chocolate cake!
I still call her when I have cooking questions or need a recipe for something. She has enough cookbooks to start a library and she cans jams, pickles, preserves, etc. She gardens and has a zillion plants and flowers....a regular domestic diva!
Anyway, she gave me a surprise b'day party 3 years ago and I was completely surprised!
Soooooo, it is time to return the favor. Hopefully she won't suspect anything since it has been 3 years.
Also, she thinks that she is coming to my house with her hubby and we will have an intimate dinner for 4. However, I am going to call her in a panic on Friday and make something up?:) so that we will be bringing the dinner to her house. This is because her house is new and gorgeous and large and my house is old and cute and small.
Donovan and I will arrive around 6:15 with all the food in tow. Then around 6:30 the rest of the gang will appear at her doorstep with the rest of the food.....and SURPRISE!!!
There will be 9 more people joining us. We have known all of them since elementary school!
Her hubby, Jim knows all about this and it was his idea to have the party there. I am nervous about it, though. I'll post another blog to let you know how it turns out!
Keep your fingers crossed and pray for everything to go smoothly!
