Whenever I am in Houston Peej likes for me to tell him certain stories about when I was growing up. Events that stick out in my mind. One of his favorites is the story about my next door neighbor.
When I was about 5 or 6 years old my next door neighbor, Tim Beavers, and I were playing in the backyard and he started throwing rocks. There was a group of older boys playing football in the backyard behind us. Well, one of the rocks hit one of the older boys in the head and he started screaming at the top of his lungs. He also was bleeding profusely.
I was so scared that Tim would be put in jail for hitting the older boy in the head.
I cried and cried. It was very traumatic for me!
I tell Peej that story also because I want him to remember not to throw rocks or anything that could hurt another person.
Whenever he asks me to tell the story he usually says, " Can you tell me the story about the boy who through the rocks?"
WELL....HERE IS THE FUNNY PART.....
This morning on the way to work I was talking to Peej on the phone and I said, "Peej,, I am going to have to get off the phone because I am at work."
Peej said, "Oh, do you work with Tim Beavers?"
Honey replied with a laugh, "No. Tim Beavers moved away a long time ago."
Peej "Did he move really far away to Seattle? My friend, Leo moved to Seattle."
Honey, "Do you miss Leo?"
Peej, "Yes. Do you miss Tim Beavers?"
I was amazed that he remembered the name Tim Beavers. I am always amazed at his memory and his quickness!
Love that boy so much!!
