The Zoo etc.

Peej and Benny got to experience Honey's and Donny's very small basement.....and crawl space...
It's where we hide when we have tornadoes around here.

Dinner on the TV trays. What fun.

Elephant Teeth at the zoo

Benny only wishes that this was a real elephant!

Camel rides were a real treat...BUMPY

Popsicles at home on the back porch after a long hot day at the zoo

Birmingham #2

On Monday morning we went to visit Nana and Paw-Paw.
Benny and Henry were lying on the bed reading
an Auburn Book.

I like the way Henry is looking at Bennett as if Bennett is really reading to him.

It is really hard to take pix when there are five children around. Plus my camera isn't the
greatest either. I have no pix of Nana and Paw Paw, or of the back yard, the puppies....

Grandkids come to Birmingham

Spring Break and time for the Texas Mafia.   John, my mom's hubby gave them the name because their cars are big and black! Donny and I were so excited to see everybody.
Henry, Matt, Leah and Sam were the first to arrive. I was so excited because Henry was excited to be at Honey's house. He found a ball right away.

Then....he found the riding lawnmower

Then, his favorite, the bird bath

A couple of hours after the Gibson's arrival, the Vescovo's rolled into town

Peej, Lou-ah, and Benny all helping Laura crawl.

Hammy...not too happy about being on Dad's shoulders

Stay tuned for more....this is just the first day!

A Weekend in Texas

Blow, Henry, Blow

Hammy is a sweetheart

Last weekend I flew into Houston on Thursday. Got to spend time with Peej, Benny and Lou-ah (Benny's name and now everyone's name for Laura) on Thursday and Friday. We went to lunch with Uncle David, played football, pitched, played basketball, went to a movie, and to our favorite restaurant, La Ha(cienda).
One of the big newsy events was that David won a HUGE award on Wednesday night. He won the "RISING STAR" award for the young 'up and coming' commercial broker-rep in the Houston area! Houston is a HUGE place, ya'll. Soooo proud of my baby boy. I don't have a picture of the trophy but I saw it...Waterford Crystal, huge piece!! There is also an article in the Houston Business Journal which I will try to upload but don't get your hopes up.
Then, on Saturday morning, Bennett and I drove to Austin to help Henry celebrate his 2nd birthday!
Everyone is growing up so fast!! Henry and Benny had a great time playing at the park with Uncle Matt, blowing bubbles, playing with Henry's toys, and just being 2 year olds!
We celebrated Henry's birthday with extended family and we also were able to see Sam and Henry dedicated at their church on Sunday morning. Sam, aka, Ham is such a sweet cuddly baby. His brother loves him so much. He is a happy boy!
After church and Henry's birthday celebration; eating lunch, cake, blowing out candles and opening gifts, Benny and I took off again to head back to Houston. He entertained me on the way back by singing Jesus Loves Me, Jesus loves the Little Children, and Holy, Holy, Holy.
When we got back, Peter Senior was home from his mission trip to Guatemala with a lot of interesting, scary, and heart-breaking stories. He said it was definitely a life-changing experience.
Monday, Honey was under the weather but we still had fun just hanging around the house. David and Jennifer came over on Monday night and we watched/made fun of The Bachelor. It was fun and of course too short. I had to leave on Tuesday morning. BUT....Guess What? All of the Gibson's and
Vescovo's are coming to visit in one week!! Yay. I love these Birmingham visits. Can't wait to take more pictures and write more stories!
